The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce calls Colombian artists and foreign-born artists residing in Colombia, 40 or younger and unrepresented by a commercial gallery, to exhibit their work in the Artecámara Pavilion 2013. Artecámara will be held as part of the ninth edition of artBO, at Corferias, October 24 through 28, 2013.
The call is for recent research projects (2011 or later) in all visual arts disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture, object, installation, intervention, video, and film, among others. The selection of participating projects will be made by specialized curator Juan Sebastián Ramírez (Paris, 1973; lives and works in Cali).
Proposals will be accepted until April 30, 2013. Foreign artists interested in participating must have resided in Colombia for a minimum of three years. Civil or blood relatives of Bogotá Chamber of Commerce officials or of any member of the curatorial team, up to the second degree, are barred from participating.
The submission process will be completed online, through www.artboonline.com. Artists who made submissions in 2012 and registered online can launch a new session and update their profile. New participants must register and create a profile.
Submissions must include: a synopsis of the project to be shown at artBO, 500 words or less; up to three images of the project for Artecámara and up to five images from works created in the past five years (2008 or later). Each image must include a technical card specifying title, year of execution, format or technique, and dimensions. Portfolios not including technical cards will not be taken into account by the curators. The images must be submitted as .JPG or .TIFF files and must not exceed 1000KB.
Between 15 and 25 artists will be selected. The curators may choose up to two projects by each selected artist. The final resolution will be presented in an official, signed document by the curators, indicating the names of the artists selected. The final roster will be available for viewing at www.artboonline.com starting on June 5, 2013.
