Several environmental debates have sprung up prior to the unveiling of the site-specific installation by Danish-Icelander artist Olafur Eliasson on Manhattan¿s East River. Both this artist and Public Art Fund curator Claire Weiss have assured that the necessary steps have been taken ¿ technically modifying and adapting the work ¿ to ensure that the environment will not be affected. The work by Montreal-based Mexican artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer faces the same type of scrutiny, as authorities in the West Wales town of Cardigan in the UK have questioned the planned placing there of Lozano-Hemmer¿s installation entitled Turbulence. It consists of a cluster of 127 buoys floating on River Teifi River, equipped with loudspeakers, LEP (Light-emitting polymer) lights, and a movement detector that will cause the buoys to reproduce any sound occurring near the site.rá a las boyas reproducir sonidos de agentes que atraviesen por aquel lugar.
