Venezuelan Art at the Sixth International Biennial of Contemporary and Monumental Art

The Sixth International Biennial of Contemporary and Monumental Art in the city of Marcigny (Saône-et-Loire) presents an exhibition titled Venezuela on Art, centered on Venezuelan art.

The exhibition includes the participation of 40 artists who will present one hundred works that belong to the geometric abstraction or kinetic art currents. Venezuela on Art was inaugurated on July 8 and it will remain open to the public at the Centre d'Art Contemporain Frank Popper until September 30, 2012.

As part of the events included in the biennial, artists Julio Pacheco Rivas and Juvenal Ravelo will present the city with two mural projects of their creation.

The Venezuelan artists that will participate in this biennial include: Carlos Cruz-Diez, René Ugarte, Rafael Barrios, Milton Becerra, Karim Borjas, Asdrúbal Colmenárez, Fabiana Cruz, Hernán Cua, Colette Delozanne, Rafael De Pool, Mirtru Escalona, Francisco Fernández, Magdalena Fernández, Agnes Herrera, Octavio Herrera, Wilmer Herrison, Suwon Lee, Wilfredo Longa, Pepe López, Victor Lucena, Manuel Mérida, Juan Michelangeli, Ignacio Monque, José Nanin, Luz Pérez Ojeda, Dario Pérez-Flores, Jorge Pizzani, Pancho Quilichi, César Quijada, Jorge Rivas, Martha Rodríguez, Francisco Salazar, and Jesús Rafael Soto, among others.
