At 9:00 pm on October 10th, São Paulo's Casa Caiada launched the series Brasil Visual, created by Rosa Melo with the support of the State of Pernambuco. The 8-episode television series debuted on national TV on the same date, five minutes before midnight. Each of Brasil Visual's eight 26-minute episodes explores the universe of contemporary art in an accessible and dynamic language, introducing the production of several generations of artists. Each week, a new episode will present a new thematic focus. Some episodes are historical in nature, dealing with such key topics in the evolution of Brazilian visual arts as the "Postal Art" movement that was essential in the resistance to (and mockery of) the country's military dictatorship. Others engage topics like "The relationship between Man, Art, and Environment" and "Art and Politics", among others. Brasil Visual is broadcast every Saturday in October and November at midnight, on TV Brasil.
