Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB), the Fifth International Bogotá Art Fair ¿ Artbo 2009 will be held from October 22 through the 26 at the Corferías exhibit spaces. This year, the Fair will consist of three pavilions and parallel activities that will open venues for dialogue and interaction in connection with the visual arts, with the goal of attracting people interested in the cultural environment of Latin America. Artecámara will be the gateway to a Fair that has become increasingly more inclusive. In addition to offering a complete commercial platform for galleries, the Fair complements its cultural offering by showcasing the current expressions of Colombia¿s national art in parallel exhibitions. These represent another of the Fair's points of attraction that are designed for the public¿s enjoyment. National Art¿s up-and-coming talent will be at the Artecámara exhibition in Pavillion 4. Twenty three artists were selected through a call by CCB, aimed at generation-inclusive spaces to stimulate the participation of young people. One new feature this year at the Fair will be the ¿Project Rooms¿, an alternate space that Artbo will offer galleries to present projects by individual artists. It is an opportunity to showcase and promote specific artistic proposals for collectors. Sixteen national and thirty international galleries will take part in the event. Participating countries will include Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Cuba, the U.S., Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Chile, among others. The official launching of the Fair¿s catalog took place on September 26. The color publication includes illustrations of the works, the galleries, and the artists participating in the Fair.
