Anna Di Stasi

Anna Di Stasi joined Sotheby's Latin American Art department in May 2014 as Vice President and Specialist. Working alongside Department Head Axel Stein, Ms. Di Stasi will contribute to Sotheby's 35 year leadership in Latin American art by securing key consignments, developing emerging art markets with a focus on contemporary art, and managing client relationships throughout the United States and abroad. Ms. Di Stasi started her career in 2000 at Christie's New York as a Specialist in the Latin American Paintings department where she was responsible for researching, valuing, and promoting works of art for sale. Ms. Di Stasi was instrumental in the first Latin American Art sale in Paris in 2004 and has been involved in the sale of such distinguished collections as those of The Estate of Maria-Gaetana Matisse and Frida Kahlo's Self-Portrait with Curly Hair. As an independent art adviser, she launched Latin Contemporary in 2008, a New York based consulting firm with expertise in modern and contemporary art from Latin America. Prior to her current role at Sotheby's, she also curated exhibitions for leading contemporary artists including Cao Guimarães first solo show in New York. As a cultural entrepreneur, she designed personalized itineraries for private art collectors to Latin America and Europe. In this capacity, she has been interviewed as an art travel expert by top publications such as: the Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The New York Times, W Magazine, amongst others. Ms. Di Stasi holds a Master of Arts in Art History from New York University, Institute of Fine Arts, a second Master of Arts on Connoisseurship and the Art Market from Christie's Education, New York, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Psychology from Boston College. She is a member of ArtTable, a certified USPAP appraiser by the Appraisers Association of America, and serves as a Host Committee Member to Brazil Foundation. Raised in Madrid, Mexico City, and Miami, she is fluent in English and Spanish, literate in Portuguese and French. She resides in New York with her husband and two sons.
