Analogía digital

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá will present Analogía digital from February 8th to 24th, 2014.

The show explores computer-based artistic practices, which have been a decisive influence in the development of creative and interactive processes in contemporary society.

The artists included in Analogía digital are pioneers in processes we regularly use to communicate research, ideas and ideologies.

The study of the approaches proposed in the show will help us understand some of the philosophical and technological considerations that emerged from the art field, and later the intentional origins of those concepts.

For example, "telematics" has fostered important developments such as mobile communications and some of the intuitive devices that surround us today. This was made possible by the revolutionary, innovative thinking of pioneers such as British professor Roy Ascot and artist Casey Reas, who initially produced generated art forms and was the co-creator of Processing, which is at once a programming language, a development environment, and an online community.

This exhibition includes video-installations, cartographic projections and site-specific installations, proposed and designed to help visitors reevaluate concepts such as "development" and "progress."

The artists featured in the show are Roy Ascott (England), Casey Reas (Austria), Jorn Ebner (Germany), Michael Kargl (Austria) , Alberto Lezaca (Colombia), David Peña (Colombia) and Carlos Franklin (Colombia).
