Ana Battistozzi - Curator of MAF 2012

The organizers of MAF (Spanish acronym for Month of Art in Tierra del Fuego) announced the appointment of art critic Ana María Battistozzi as the institution¿s new curator. The most recent edition of this visual arts event promises to deliver new challenges and the interaction of several artistic disciplines, in order to establish a contemporary environment for the new Month of Art production that takes place in the southern region of Argentina. The Month of Art in Tierra de Fuego is a visual arts exhibition program at the provincial level. It was created with the goal of showcasing and promoting the production of visual artists from Tierra del Fuego. The project is organized and promoted by the Provincial Undersecretariat of Culture, the Municipality of Ushuaia, and the Museo Marítimo in Ushuaia. MAF brings together artists from various disciplines who are compelled to work as a team under the same thematic center. Its first edition was inaugurated in November of 2011 and included the participation of thirty artists. Matilde Marín was chosen as the curator for that edition of the event.
