Random Works

The Project entitled Aleatorios (Random Works) brings together an important number of Venezuelan contemporary artists. These authors come from different artistic disciplines-painting, sculpture, photography, music, dance, goldsmithing, graphic design, film, and illustration-and have adopted video and the emerging technologies as support for approaching new proposals and creative processes, while maintaining the formal and conceptual precepts of their previous inquiries. Through their artistic perception, the contextual reality is reconfigured to generate authentic visual poems that showcase the metropolitan landscapes of artists like Muu Blanco, Guerra de la Paz, Jorge Domínguez-Dubuc, Lisa Blackmore, Yuri Liscano, Marco Montiel-Soto, Luis Gómez, Alberto Negrón, Joaquín Urbina, María Teresa Govea-Meoz, Edmundo de Marchena, Rossana Fernández, Lourdes Peñaranda, Luis Poleo, Dondyk Riga, Vincent + Feria, Sabrina Montiel-Soto, Álvaro Bustillos, Omar Lamuño, Mauricio Ceppi, Alexander Hung, Miguel Molina, Douglas Voisin, Carlos A. Etcheverry, Fran Wow Cordido, Consuelo Méndez, José Reinaldo Guédez, and Agustín Rincón, among others. The idea of presenting this group of creators in random fashion, offers the opportunity of going over a perspective of current video art in Venezuela, while it also recognizes the reach of the "new mediums" in the production of local and international contemporary art. The exhibition will remain open to the public until September of 2011.
