Mexican artist Abraham Cruzvillegas will receive the Yanghyun Prize on October 12, 2012. The ceremony will be held at the National Museum of Korea in the city of Seoul.
The Prize includes the possibility of presenting an exhibition at a well-known museum for three consecutive years following the reception of the Prize. It also includes a purse of approximately USD 88,000.00. Created in honor of Cho Soo-Ho, the last president of the Hanjin Shipping—the largest shipping company in South Korea—this is the fifth edition of the Prize.
Cruzvillegas' artistic career has been very active this year, as he was also selected to participate in DOCUMENTA and in the Gwangju Biennale in South Korea. Cruzvillegas studied Philosophy and Art at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
