5th Call for the TAVCC Biennial Award | El Casino
Taula de les Arts Visuals de la Catalunya Central (TAVCC) and the Centro Cultural El Casino summon for the fifth edition of the TAVCC Biennial Award, which aims to promote, disseminate and coordinate proposals for visual arts and contemporary creation.
Candidates may present their proposals until January 31, 2021, virtually through the Manresa City Council portal.
The call is to create an art project to be presented in the Espai 7 space of the Centro Cultural El Casino during 2021. The possibility of reaching agreements between the organization, the award-winning proposal, and one of the region's art centers and influence of the TAVCC for an exhibition tour.
Artists individually or collectively and without limitation (age, nationality, etc.) can participate in this award. It is not a requirement that the participants be residents or from the area with an influence of the TAVCC; however, the proposals related to this region will have added value.
The winning project will be granted 2,000 euros for the development of the project, and it will be exhibited during July in Space 7 of the Centro Cultural El Casino.
In the first three editions, the award focused on the exhibition area. Still, from the fourth edition, the contest turned towards contemporary artistic creation and became a production grant, allowing artists to work more gradually and exhibiting the evolution of the project. The award attempts to cover more conceptual and theoretical proposals, or processual ones, and not limit the projects presented to an exhibition format.
