The BMW Group presents the 30th Edition of the BMW Award, a competition aimed at promoting art in general, and painting in particular, through the cultural dissemination of works and the discovery of new artistic talents. The award is granted in the following seven categories: BMW Painting Award, Mario Antolín Grant for Pictorial Research, Innovation Award and the BMW Award to Young Talent. Free of charge, the call is open to Spanish and foreign painters that reside in Spain. The deadline for participation is by 12:00 pm on September 7 of 2015. Under the title "We Share with You a Passion for Art," the BMW Group wants once again to demonstrate its commitment to the promotion of art as a vehicle for expression and communication. This year, the competing works will be for the first time presented exclusively online. All applications must be submitted online to the following Web address: http://premiodepintura.bmw.es. Participants may submit up to five paintings each. The winners will be announced during the award ceremony held at the Teatro Real. Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain will preside over the ceremony. This event will be followed by a traditional concert organized to raise money for the Fundación Mundo en Armonía. The complete rules of the call are available at http://www.micrositepremiobmwdepintura.es Since 1986, the BMW Painting Award has included the participation of 20,000 artists from different nationalities and with wide-ranging styles and tendencies. The previous edition—in which Daniel Merlin won—included the participation of more than 750 painters.
