The Galeria Botello was created in 1979 with the aim of propitiating a meeting space between those who create art and those who love it, to offer to contemporary artists a space to express themselves with creative freedom, to support exhibitions through catalogues and visual documentation, and project their image internationally. Among those artists who have worked there during the last 25 years are: Angel Botello, Myrna Baéz, Maria Emilia Somoza, Dirube, Maria de Mater O¿Neill, Carlos Collazo, Zeno, Cecilio Colón, Lope Max Díaz, as well as the ceramics workers from the Manos group, that later became the Casa Candina: Sylvia Blanco, Lorraine de Castro, Susana Espinosa, Toni Hambleton, Bernardo Hogan, Masaro Pérez, Jaime Suárez, among others. The gallery projects to continue in the future with an entrepreneurial work, full of challenges, and to continue spreading artistic work of creators from inside and outside Puerto Rico.
