The Centro Audiovisual Rosario and Tea Imagen announce the call for audiovisual artists to participate in the 21st edition of the Latin American Video and Audiovisual Arts Festival Rosario 2014. The Festival aims at promoting visual art as a medium of expression, communication, and testimony. The Festival will take place from September 5 – 14, 2014, in Rosario (Santa Fe, Argentina). The deadline to enter applications is June 13, 2014. The call is open to audiovisual works—by Latin American artists—that do not exceed the 60 minute mark (including closing credits), in the genre of animation, fiction, documentary, and experimental. Beginning with this edition of the event, both Argentinean artists as well as those artists leaving abroad will be able to submit their shorts online, though the Movibeta platform at:
http://festival.movibeta.com/web/controllers/siteController.php The Festival will award the "Best Audiovisual of the Festival" with a purse of ten thousand ($10,000.00) Argentinean pesos. Additionally, the event will award the "Best Audiovisual Documentary," "Best Audiovisual Fiction," "Best Audiovisual Animation" and "Best Experimental Audiovisual." The jury will also select other projects for Special Mentions and other distinctions. Throughout its various editions, the Latin American Video and Audiovisual Arts Festival Rosario has become a great screen to showcase independent productions from Latin America, as well as a place to meet renowned directors and film students alike, to interact in a space that promotes the dissemination and exhibition of the Seventh Art. Already on its third decade, the Festival continues to advocate the dissemination of Latin American moving images, as its program includes new releases and guest films that explore the diversity across this vast territory. In addition to the already classic competing selections and the projections that are not in competition, there is the 14th Exhibition of Short Films for Children and Youth. Chile will be the guest country for this edition. The country will pay homage to its most prominent directors; will present a selection of films by new filmmakers; among other screenings that will permeate the various sections of the Festival.
