17th International Contemporary Art Festival SESC-Videobrasil, 2011

17th International Contemporary Art Festival SESC- Videobrasil will be held in September 2011, with structural changes. The Panorama del Sur (Southern Panorama) competitive exhibition, previously limited to video works, in this new edition will accept other types of works, such as installations, performances, artist's books and art objects-namely, works of art that use printing mediums or publications supports as art pieces. As part of the festival activities, the Panorama del Sur exhibition will showcase the works selected for that prize. Artist living in the Southern hemisphere, that is to say; Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania, are invited to submit their proposals for the Panorama del Sur exhibition by no later than March 10, 2011. The festival will be held in September and the works selected will compete for a First Prize with a purse of R$ 45,000 (US $ 26,900), and for artistic residences granted with the support of institutions from Brazil, Asia, Europe, and South America.
