The Popular Ministry of Culture in Venezuela announced in May of this year the call for the Fourth National Art Collecting Encounter. The event will be held for the most part at the Museo de la Estampa y el Diseño Carlos Cruz Diez. Inaugurated on July 1, the encounter will remain open to the public until October 28.
According to the events Director, Edgar González, this "is a museographic experience that uses all the floors in the museum, or a total of 1,500 square feet (139.35 square meters). It is divided in two visions of collecting that share a common reality: value, and a fascination toward objects." One of the objectives of the event is the rescue of memories by those dedicated to preserve objects with symbolic value. Through the museographic language, these acquire special significance across all publics. Family collections, inheritances passed from one generation to the next.
