The Laboratory for Artistic Expression (LEA, its Spanish acronym), created by the Argentinean Faena business group to promote the creative development of artists and researchers, awarded First Place in its Premios F to Cuban artist Wilfredo Prieto for his site-specific project entitled Opio. The project will be placed for an entire year in the area of the old engine room inside the Los Molinos Building, headquarters of the Faena Foundation. Prieto will receive $ 32,600.00 USD, 20% of which will go toward the construction of his installation. Second Place was awarded to Uruguayan artist Martín Sastre for his project entitled ¿Qué Pretende Usted de Mi? (What Do You Want From Me?) The jury panel in charge of awarding the prizes was made up by Carlos Basualdo, Okwui Enwezor, and Jessica Morgan.
