A non-profit organization created to encourage and promote creativity through different artistic manifestations in the community, the PAXy foundation prepares a series of ten events with Miami-based musicians and students from the School of Music of the Florida International University (FIU). Titled "Wake Up Miami!" the event will serve to showcase the local talent in various musical genres, including classical, jazz, folk and music from around the world. The artists that will participate in the event are: Ominé, Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band, Felipe Carvajal, Sean Dibble & Jared Bistrong, Glenda Fernández-Vega, Carlos Andrade – Acoustic Dialogs, the Aldo Salvent Trio, Siobhan Cronin and Caroline Buse, the Original Cover Project, and Deaf Poets. The concerts will take place from October 5 to December 7, beginning at 8:30 am at the Miami Government Center–Metromover Station. With this event PAXy also intends to promote the use of public transportation by making it a more pleasant and memorable experience with these concerts in one of the city's busiest subway stations. Each event will have a duration of 45 to 90 minutes, beginning at 8:30 am. More information and to get the full calendar of events, visit:
