Venice Design Week

The call for designers to participate in the Venice Design Week will be open from October 8 through the 17, 2010. The project consists on developing micro-exhibitions across Venice's Historical Center and publishing a catalog with the interventions of the Italian and foreign creative talents taking part in the event. The Venice Design Week consists of a series of articulated walks within a network of exhibitions, where artists and designers are the protagonists. The organizers have planned exhibitions and encounters in which professionals in the field will participate in round tables about design. Venice Design Week is a journey into the depths of culture and everyday experiences, driven by a desire to discover different points of view. Framed by a place where new currents in design, fashion, and art are continuously emerging and interacting, the proposed walks have been planned to be surprising, ephemeral, and experimental. Venice facilitates and stimulates encounters; it favors cooperation and generates synergies, as it has been for the longest time a place of transformations where tradition meets the future. The event represents the consolidation of a network of professionals who will meet in Venice: an ideal location for the exchange of artistic ideas and abilities.
