To Loose the Human Form

This exhibition organized by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain), arrives at the Museo de Arte de Lima with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID, its Spanish acronym).
Under a collective curatorship by the group Red Conceptualismos del Sur, the exhibition offers a vision of the tensions between art, politics and activism that emerged during the 1980s in Latin America, through more than six hundred photographs, graphic and documental material, sound recordings, installations and drawings.
To Loose the Human Form invites to reflect on a series of micro-stories and cases of localized studies that allow viewers to approach a decade in Latin America that was unknown until now. Many of the materials compiled have never before been published and are exhibited for the very first time.
The exhibition will remain open to the public from November 23 of 2013 to February 23 of 2014.
