Three Exhibitions Generate Revenues of More Than $940 Million Dollars in New York City

Three of the exhibitions that opened during the summer of 2015 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or the Met as it is commonly known, in New York City had visitors spending $946 million dollars. That number comes from a survey carried out by the museum. The three exhibitions are: "China: Through the Looking Glass," "The Roof Garden Commission: Pierre Huyghe," and "Sargent: Portraits of Artists and Friends." Regarded as one of the best museums in the world, the Metropolitan Museum is one of the important reasons to visit the city. During the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014 and ending on June 30, 2015, the Metropolitan Museum reported a record 6.3 million visitors, 26 percent of them from New York, and 74 percent form outside the five boroughs.
