The III Salon de Arte ExxonMobil (III ExxonMobil¿s Art Exhibition) of Venezuela presented in this edition ¿Hombre y Sociedad / El hombre y su circunstancia social¿ (Men and Society / Men and his social circumstance), a show where artists from all of Venezuela¿s geography participated and a special interest was placed of integrating the entities and individuals involved in the capital and regional cultural work. This edition focuses on the different tendencies that refer and express the being and doing of men by means of figuration, conceptualization, symbols and abstract meanings. The exhibition is in a location where paintings, photography, video-art, projects and installations can be found. The show reunited a highly qualified jury, made up by Jaqueline Russet (MBA Director), Juan Carlos Lopez (GAN Exposition and Investigation Manager) and Jose Pulido (Museo Maracay Mario Abreu Executive Director), who after evaluating 72 of the 75 artworks included in the show (chosen among 824 works received), chose unanimously to bestow the following distinctions: FIRST PRIZE - ¿Héctor Poleo¿ Award (acquisition), consistent in Bs 12.000.000 and diploma: Astolfo Funes with Quinta Cristal, 2005. SECOND PRIZE - ¿César Rengifo¿ Award (acquisition), consistent in Bs. 9.000.000 and diploma: Claudia Bueno Suárez with Penumbras..., 2005. THIRD PRIZE - Pedro León Castro¿ Award (acquisition), consistent in Bs. 7.000.000 and diploma, Enrique Moreno Dbeiss with Charp, 2005. Likewise, in recognition to the high level and quality of the artworks presented in the III Salon de Arte, the Admission Jury conferred an Honorific Mention to the following artists: Eddy Beatriz Chacón, Manuel Hernández Girardi, Aureliano Alfonzo Torres y Jaime Castro Oróztegui.
