Inspired by the intimate gatherings that flourished in France during the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries, the fashion house Louis Vuitton inaugurated the Salón de Louis Vuitton on June 3 at its Bal Harbour store. This salon is part of a series of artistic-cultural events that will take place in the U.S. - particularly in Miami, San Francisco, and New York - with the purpose of offering their guests the opportunity to interact with personalities from the art and cultural world. Held at the Bal Harbour Shop by David Goubert - Senior Vice-president for the Louis Vuitton southwestern region - the event was organized as a benefit for the Wolfsonian-Florida International University Museum. An installation was presented in the store on the night of the event by prominent young artist Teresita Fernández. Inspired by the Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Collection for men, Fernández's installation combined components of Louis Vuitton luggage pieces with twelve original works from her graphite series entitled Nocturnal Series.
