Roger Pfund Pinturas y Billetes (Roger Pfund Paintings and Bills)

The exhibition entitled Roger Pfund Pinturas y Billetes will be presented at the Mint House ¿ located in the manzana cultural or cultural block across from the Luis Ángel Arango Library ¿ to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Central Bank of Colombia¿s printing office. Painter, architect, and graphic designer, Roger Pfund is a notable figure. The exhibit will center on the several stages of Pfund¿s artistic life, the variety of techniques he has mastered, and will also underscore the works associated with the design of bills for the bank. One of the objectives of the exhibit is to showcase the close relationship that exists between art and currency. Visitors will be able to observe several sketches and impressions of bill designs, such as those created for Euros and Swiss and French Francs, as well as a series of commemorative coins. Visitors will also be able to see numismatic and contemporary art exhibitions that feature the artistic qualities of the bills. Accompanying the Pfund works, it will also be possible to appreciate other elements, such as the security elements contained in Swiss passports, watch designs, as well as mixed media paintings such as the portraits of Maria Callas, Arthur Rambeau, Marcel Proust, and Pablo Picasso.
