The Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI, its Spanish Acronym) offers, through its Ibero-American Program of Mobility for Artists and Cultural Managers, a total of 200 scholarships—divided among the member countries—aimed at continuing to offer to the cultural sector instruments of cooperation and exchange directed at learning from new experiences, models and methodologies that support specializations and professional development.
The scholarships include "point-to-point" airplane tickets for international traveling. The maximum period of stay at the destination will be between 7 and 15 days. This period may be extended if the countries involved have agreements in place between them.
The project will commence in 2014 with 200 artists and cultural administrators. It will be expanded during the following years depending on the experience, the interest demonstrated by the countries and the available resources.
The number of participants initially projected to represent each country is as follows:
Brazil and Mexico: 16; Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Spain: 12; Bolivia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela: 8.
This initiative is also aimed at promoting the development of meaningful strategies that allow the dissemination of knowledge, abilities, methodologies and experiences that contribute to strengthen the practices of artists and cultural administrators that work in the region.
Likewise, another goal of the project is to facilitate the creation of cultural collaboration and cooperation networks that are essential for the shared work and the circulation of ideas, experiences and knowledge.
The call and selection of candidates will go on from February through April of 2014. To learn about the complete rules of the call, visit: www.oei.es/xvicic/movilidad.pdf
