Patrick Boucard was born April 25th 1956 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He spent most of his childhood in Mexico and in the United States. He joined the US Army and spent three years in the Orient where he started to write poetry. He was never really interested in Visual arts until 1993 the year he opened "Xaraguart" in Jaqumel, in the South of Haiti. He really started to paint only then. It fast became his new passion. He moved to England in 1995 to study art. In 2001 he graduated from the Central St. Martin School of art with a master¿s degree in Beaux-Arts. Back in Haiti, in 2002, he founded "Centre d¿art" in Jacmel and in 2003 the film festival of Jacmel, which has become a huge success.
