Inaugurated in March of 2007 with the goal of offering a space for the dissemination of Latin American contemporary art, Galería Nueveochenta has become an important referent for Latin American and Colombian art at the national and international levels. On June 20, the gallery will open a new space located at 68 No. 12 – 42. The space was restored by architect Luis Restrepo. It will be inaugurated with the exhibition titled "Wait While I Tie My Shoes" by Colombian artist Natalia Castañeda. About the new venue a spokesperson for the gallery said that "We have been through eight years of marvelous growth; we are certain that this new period that we are about to embark on in this new site will be nourished by the spaces in this 40-year-old home. We hope that you continue to join us with the same enthusiasm that you have demonstrated until today."
