Aimed at presenting different cultural expressions and supporting the important cultural growth experienced the city of Querétaro, the Museo Fundación Santiago Carbonell opened its doors on May 14 of 2014. The project was conceived under the initiative of Ecuadorian artist Santiago Carbonel, a resident of that Mexican town for over twenty years. Both the Museo Fundación Santiago Carbonell and the Amigos del Museo association, expressed their commitment to promote young artists through study scholarships, traveling grants, advise from art professionals, galleries, fairs and workshops; project assistance, guidance, curatorship and criticism, among other forms of support.
