MoMA at the Foundation Louis Vuitton

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City (MoMA) and the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris announced the first exhibition in France of the MoMA Collection. Under the curatorship of Quentin Bajac, the exhibition titled "Being Modern: MoMAA in Paris" at the Fondation Louis Vuitton will remain open from October 11, 2017, through March 5, 2018.

The first section of the exhibition will be chronologically organized, showing emblematic works acquired during the MoMA's first decade of existence. The second section will focus on Minimalism, Pop Art, and some other works from the 1960s. The final section will center on contemporary works from around the world, most of which were acquired by the museum in the last two years.

The exhibition will include works by artists like Max Beckmann, Alexander Calder, Paul Cézanne, Marcel Duchamp, Walker Evans, Jasper Johns, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Gustav Klimt, Yayoi Kusama, René Magritte, Pablo Picasso, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Yvonne Rainer, Frank Stella, and Paul Signac, among others. The show will also include a selection of rarely exhibited material from MoMA's archival section that outlines the history of the Museum and contextualizes its works.
