The Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, celebrating its 50th anniversary, is presenting the show Fotografía: Donación en la colección, with works by Venezuelan photographer Luis Brito, winner of the National Photography Award in Venezuela in 1996.
The show features 81 photographs donated by the artist to the museum's collection, all belonging to his series Recuerdas a Eleanor Rigby (images copied in cybachrome, where the color light, lie a celestial stage, accompanies granite figures found by the artist in cemeteries); Desasosiego; and, finally, Una noche en el camerino. These series are representative of Brito's career and evince his obsession with death as a topic.
The show will remain open to the public in the museum's Carlos Rojas Gallery through January 31st, 2014.
