The Instituto Italo-Latino Americano - IILA, Roma Capitale, and Zètema, present Latin American Spring, a series of activities centered on the promotion of Latin American culture and on the Roma Capitale generation as a cultural bridge between Italy and Latin America.
The event will present films, visual art exhibition, and musical events that will be presented in several cultural venues across Rome. The program is organized in the following way:
1. Latin American Cinema: a retrospective of Latin American films presented by Rodrigo Díaz, director of the Latin American Film Festival in Trieste, Italy. Venue: Casa del Cinema, Largo Marcello Mastroianni, 1 - Roma.
Date: Wednesday, March 28 - Monday, April 2, 2012. The films will be screened in their original language with Italian subtitles.
2. A Latin American Caught Between Tradition and Contemporaneity. An exhibition by artist Alfredo Sosabravo curated by René Palenzuela. "... Cuban artist Alfredo Sosabravo, a prominent personality in the Latin American world of the visual arts, will present a series of large paintings, bronze sculptures, and Murano glass works..."
