The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León–MUSAC–has launched Convocatoria Laboratorio 987, a call for applicants to its permanent program of both financial support and promotion of contemporary art and culture, intended to enhance the cultural environment in Castilla y León from an open point of view. Convocatoria Laboratorio 987 invites applications from any adult individual, group, or collective, independent of their origin, connected to the arts, creation, culture, education, research, social movements and their different public expressions, interested in producing experimental and innovative projects. Convocatoria Laboratorio 987 has been conceived as a work in process, and as such is not a closed, definitive, or conclusive call for the year 2016, for which a total of 50,000 Euros have been set aside. Submitted projects are not required to follow a specific thematic line or orientation, but they must cohere with the artist's line of research, connect with debates in the contemporary artistic, cultural, and social agenda, and make sense for the community of Castilla y León. Any and all artists or individuals who see themselves as a member of the artistic community, individually or as a group and independently of their origin, can send one or as many projects as they wish, with the sole requirement that the projects be carried out or make sense in Castilla y León.
