The Fundación Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Jesús Soto received the support of the Venezuelan Culture Ministry to help with the inventory, record keeping and cataloguing of more than 900 pictorial works and sculptures by Venezuelan artist Jesús Soto and other Latin American and European artists. Confronted with the likely deterioration of the cultural patrimony housed in the center, the current director, Marlon Acosta, announced that he has received the necessary support to maintain and restore the five buildings that are part of the center. The Culture Ministry of Venezuela will support a study to assess the current state of the patrimony and the creation of photographic records for each of the works. The team sent by the Culture Ministry included Vivian Rivas-Gingerich, President of the Fundación Museos Nacionales and General Director of the Instituto de las Artes de la Imagen y el Espacio (LARTES); as well as spokespersons from the Centro de Conservación y Restauración de Patrimonio (CENCREP) and the Museo Virtual de América Latina y El Caribe.
