ACAENCORTO Producciones, AC, CODISEEG, and Promofest Promoting Film for Festivals are calling to the International Short Film Festival "El Cine a las Calles", in Mexico.
The call is intended for students in film, visual arts, communication, and related fields in public and private universities, as well as independent, amateur, and professional filmmakers working in Mexico and abroad.
Short work in fiction, documentary, and animation will be accepted.
For animation, submitted works can be filmed, recorded, or computer-generated, and can be edited in film or in a nonlinear system.
Topics for submission are:
-FREE TOPIC. The winner will be presented in Europe's best festivals through Promofest Promoting Film for Festivals.
-WOMEN IN CELLULOID. Works focused on the promotion of gender equality at all levels, produced between 2011 and the close of this call.
-QUEER STREET. Works connected to LGBTI issues, produced after 2011.
Submitted works must be at least 1 minute long, and up to 25 minutes (including credits). If Spanish is not the original language, submissions must include subtitles. All works must be submitted in DVD NTSC format (not VCD), with one copy in MINIDV and five copies in DVD. Each copy must be submitted in a separate, properly labeled case: title of the work, length, category, name of the director, year of production.
In a closed, separate envelope, participants must provide the following information: author or author's CV; registration form and technical card (original and four copies) found in the festival Web Site; synopsis in Word format (half a page maximum), one copy of the poster, if there is one; 5 stills in .jpg format.
There are no limitations to the number of submissions per author or producer. Video-clips or commercial works are not accepted. Registration is free in all categories.
Submissions will be accepted through July 18th, 2013 at the Social Area of the Municipal Culture Office, Jardín Hidalgo #5, 2 Piso, Centro Histórico, CP 78000, San Luis Potosí, S.L.P., addressed to International Short Film Festival "El Cine a la Calles", ACAENCORTO Producciones.
Winners in some categories will receive $25,000 Mexican pesos, and there will be honorary mentions as well as a University Students Award and a Mexican Republic Award, both audience-selected.
