Grand Palais will close for two years for restoration purposes

Paris'historic Grand Palais is set to close for more than two years starting 2020, to undergo essential maintenance and renovation work that will cause changes in the art fair calendar. FIAC, Paris Photo and La Biennale Paris will be forced to relocate to temporary locations. Sylvie Hubac, president of Réunion des musées nationaux (RMN), the government cultural body that runs the Grand Palais, told the Art Newspaper that the overhaul will result in "exceptional high-quality, generous exhibition spaces to accommodate our partners and visitors." The building is scheduled to re-open in January 2023.
