The Galería Elba Benítez presents "25 years," a group exhibition that celebrates the gallery's 25th anniversary. The retrospective consists of an overview of the extensive activity of the gallery since it opened its doors. The exhibition will be on display during the month of September and will jumpstart the next exhibition season. Curated by Elba Benitez, "25 Years" presents works by many of the artists who have worked with the gallery along its quarter century of existence. The exhibition will include historical and recent works spatially created to be part of a group exhibition. Some of the pieces will be displayed outdoors, near the area where the gallery is located. The artists that will participate in the show are: Ignasi Aballí, Armando Andrade Tudela, Lothar Baumgarten, Carlos Bunga, Cabello/Carceller, Juan Cruz, Gintaras Didžiapetris, Fernanda Fragateiro, Hreinn Fridfinnsson, Carlos Garaicoa, Mario Garcia Torres, David Goldblatt, Cristina Iglesias, Ana Mendieta, Vik Muniz Ernesto Neto, Francisco Ruiz de Infante, Reiner Ruthenbeck, Alexander Sokurov, Francesc Torres and Valentin Vallhonrat. The exhibition was titled after a piece of the same name created especially for the Galería Elba Benitez by artist Ignasi Aballí. Aballí was part of the gallery's inaugural exhibition in 1990 and was one of the first artists to exhibit a solo show at the gallery.
