On February 6, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation announced the opening of the call for the second edition of the Future Generation Art Prize Biennial. The competition offers a First Prize purse of US $100,000.00. The call for entries is open to any artist under the age of 35 and from any part of the world. The deadline to enter all applications is May 6 of 2012. A single winner will be announced in December of this year. Concurrent with the announcement of the winner, the event will present an exhibition at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev that will display the works of all finalists. It will remain open from October of 2012 to January of 2013. This Prize is supported by a group of 50 joint platforms that represent more than 38 countries, and their representatives will take part in the entire application and selection process. The call aims at recognizing and supporting new generations of artists in a consistent and lasting manner. The Prize is regarded as unique in that if offers individuals from any place in the world the opportunity to give wings to their creativity, and also because of the democratic manner in which it conducts the application process: through the internet.
