FULL CONTACT is an event that takes place in the context of SCAN Tarragona, International Festival of Photography, and which targets emerging artists who use photography as means of expression. FULL CONTACT is conceived as a point of encounter to establish exchanges, generate networks, bridges and synergies among Full Contact Artists (FCA-emerging artists/photographers) and Full Contact Followers (FCF-agents from the art world), independent curators, directors of festivals, galleries, art centers, and publishers, with the objective of encouraging collaboration and promoting artistic relationships among the parties. In this regard, SCAN Tarragona opens this call to emerging photographers from any place around the world and will select 20 photographers to participate in FULL CONTACT 2014. FULL CONTACT Award: FULL CONTACT will be judged by a professional jury presided by prestigious photographer Joan Fontcuberta, who along with the remaining members of the jury will select a single winning work from among the works entered by the twenty participants. The award consists of the production of a solo exhibition in Tarragona in 2015. How to participate 1. Obtain, fill out and send the application form available online at: http://www.scan.cat/es/premio-full-contact/, along with a brief CV. 2. Select a maximum of 15 photographs and send them through a server like Dropbox or WeTransfer. They can also be emailed. The photographs cannot exceed 1,200 pixels along their longest side. The deadline to enter all proposals is June 9, 2014. The list of the candidates selected will be published on June 16 on the homepage of the festival. About the artists selected: -The artists selected will participate as guests and will not be required to make any monetary contribution. -The festival will be responsible for providing accommodations for the candidates. -Each participant is responsible for his/her traveling expenses. -Each of the artists selected agree to attend FULL CONTACT with their portfolios on October 24 and 25, 2014. FULL CONTACT Followers (FCF) FULL CONTACT will invite a certain number of agents from the art sector (FCF) to participate in the event. Other considerations: -The artists selected agree to relinquish the rights to reproduce—digitally, electronically or in print—the works submitted, with the sole purpose of promoting and disseminating the festival. -Participants must accept these regulations. Any unforeseen eventualities will be resolved by the organizers of the festival.
