Paris' Centre Georges Pompidou is presenting, through March 17, 2014, Frida et moi, an exhibition geared towards children aged 5 to 10.
This exhibition-workshop proposes a tour of Frida Kahlo's life and oeuvre, where pint-sized visitors will learn about and manipulate objects and characters present in her art. The exhibition's staging will allow them to make a contemporary reinterpretation of the artist's references. Through interactive artworks and games, each child will be able to manipulate and come closer to Kahlo's artistic universe.
The exhibition also features reproductions of Kahlo's works, photographs, films, documents, and quotations.
This exhibition-workshop is on display at the Centre's Galerie des enfants and is part of the new exhibition of the Modernités plurielles collections, devoted in large part to Latin American art. This show will travel to Acapulco, Mexico, for the inauguration of Casa de los Vientos Diego Rivera, a new cultural space that is the culmination of a collaboration between both cultural institutions.
