The Alliance Francaise in Lima and the French Embassy in Peru announce the 18th French-Peruvian visual arts competition "¨Passport for an Artist" 2015, with the theme "Freedom: Me and Others". The call for entries is open through Thursday, May 7th.
"Passport for an Artist" seeks to promote greater exchange between France and Peru n the visual arts field. The contest is open in Lima and cities of the interior, wherever an Alliance Francaise location exists (Arequipa, Chiclayo, Iquitos, Piura, and Trujillo).
The competition is open to Peruvian artists or residents in Peru, between the ages of 18 and 35 (reached in 20015), who have not received any awards in previous editions of "Passport for an Artist". Submissions can be In any artistic genre, including paintings, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation, performance, video art, and all their variants.
For the pre-selection phase, dossiers must be presented according to the following specifications: completed Inscription form (found in the competition rules) and CV in the prescribed format. Presentation of the artwork in a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of twelve (12) images of different works. For video, at least one edited copy of a previous work must be submitted, in the MP4 format. Submissions in installation and performance must be documented. All dossiers must include title, technique, year of execution, and, when applicable, the dimensions of the work, as well as press commentary or criticism.
The dossiers must be submitted in a sealed envelope to Concurso Franco-Peruano de Artes Visuales "Pasaporte para un Artista", at the Alliance Francoise's main location in Lima (Av. Arequipa 4595 – Miraflores / attention Área Cultural) or the locations in the cities mentioned above (the complete list and addresses can be found in the Alliance's website). All dossiers must be submitted by May 7th, 2015 at the latest.
