The Asociación Cultural de Amigos de Ramón Portillo and the City Council of Motril announce the opening of the Fourth "Ramón Portillo" National Painting Competition. The event is open to artists of any nationality. Participants must submit one original work, never before published or participated in another competition. The work must be larger than 60 cm (23.6 in) and smaller than 200 cm (78.7 in) at any of its sides. Candidates must submit the following material before November 10 of 2011: one artwork, properly framed but without glass or any other support that may jeopardize its integrity; the author¿s full name and the title of the work written on the back of the painting. Additionally, candidates must include a sealed envelope that includes title of the event, the author¿s full name and the title of the work. Inside the envelope candidates must include a photograph of the work -with the author¿s full name written on the back- along with an information label, copy of ID document, address, telephone number, e-mail, C.V., monetary value of the work, and a prepaid return request that includes shipment fees in case the piece cannot be picked-up in person. The material must be submitted in person or shipped through a delivery company to: Casa Condesa de Torre-Isabel, Plaza de la Libertad No 2 18600 Motril (Granada), Monday through Friday, from 10 am to 2 pm (except holydays).
