The Fondo de Cultura de Sevilla Foundation (FOCUS-Abengoa) is calling for submissions to the Focus-Abengoa International Painting Prize 2012.
Any artist 18 or older who has not won the award (First or Consolation Prize) in any previous edition can submit work.
Topics and techniques are free. Each painter will submit a single original work, not under consideration in any other competition and never before submitted to the Focus-Abengoa Prize. Submissions must be a maximum of 200 x 200 cm in size, and a minimum of 73 x 60 cm.
Interested participants must fill the submission form found in the prize's official Web page. (*) In addition, artists must include a brief biographical note (one page maximum) listing academic career, other competitions in which he or she has participated, and awards received. Also, a color reproduction of the work submitted and two photographs of different works; a photocopy of the participant's DNI, passport, or, if applicable, resident card. These materials will be the property of the Foundation. Documentation must be sent by certified mail in an envelope labeled Focus-Abengoa International Painting Prize 2012, delivered in person to the Focus-Abengoa Foundation, Hospital de los Venerables 8, 41004, Seville, Spain, or by email to premiodepintura@abengoa.com.
The deadline for submissions is September 23rd, 2012. Works preselected by the jury must be delivered by November 23rd, 2012.
The Prize amount will be 36,000 Euros, distributed as follows: First Prize, 24,000 Euros; two Consolation Prizes, 6,000 Euros each.
