Faena Art invites artists from around the world dedicated to any artistic discipline to submit proposals to participate in the Faena Prize. A purse of US$75,000.00 will be awarded to the winner for the creation of a new site-specific work that incorporates the concepts of temporality and duration as raw materials in a context that is specific for Buenos Aires and the Faena Art Center. For this edition, the call emphasizes its institutional mission of investigating temporality as raw material. The call is open to projects from different artistic or interdisciplinary manifestations: installations, performances, paintings, sculptures, photographs, any work that includes design and/or architecture, and film or video art projects, among others. The deadline to enter all applications is August 10, 2016. The project selected will be presented at the Faena Art Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the possibility of being adapted for the Faena Forum Miami Beach. The event aims at inviting artists from anywhere in the world to submit proposals that dialogue with the building's monumental architecture and with the cultural and urban conditions that shape our immediate context. The jury is formed by Carlos Basualdo, Achim Borchardt-Hume, Caroline Bourgeois, Jesús Fuenmayor, and Victoria Noorthoorn. It is coordinated by Ximena Caminos (President of Faena Art).
