Contemporary Art Residencies 2020

The application period for Cooperativa de Arte's Contemporary Art Residencies remains open through July 31, 2019. Contemporary visual artists, historians, researchers, curators, promoters, and other cultural field agents are encouraged to apply. Habeas data VII, Art Editoriality, a research residency in contemporary art, will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, from January 6 to January 22 of 2020. It is intended to enhance understanding of "relationships in publishing production and in editoriality in Latin America," establish their contingency, and promote the formation of networks of producers, researchers, critics, and other agents involved in the practice of contemporary art. Arte en América Hoy III, a research residency in contemporary art, will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, from February 3 to February 19 of 2020. Its goal is to enhance understanding of relationships of production in Latin America, establish their contingency, and promote the formation of networks of producers, researchers, critics, and other agents involved in the practice of contemporary art. Social Summer Camp XI, Art and Social Processes, a residency for the investigation of art and social processes, will take place in Villa Alegre (Chile), from March 4 to 15 of 2020. It is intended to review and discuss models for the investigation of contemporary art in Latin America, in connection with social processes, in order to propose possible methodologies and categorizations, and to foster relationships between researchers, critics, and other agents involved in the practice throughout the continent. These residencies are an experience in collective and collaborative work, bringing together a group of practitioners in the art field for daily discussion, analysis and production sessions on the topic of the call.
