Cruz-Diez Art Foundation (CDAF) and the Articruz workshop, announce the inauguration of the exhibition titled "Chroma" by artist Carlos Cruz-Diez. The show will take place from February 21 to August 20, 2017 at the Museum of Art of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), across the Savannah campus and in the context of the "deFINE Art" program. "Chroma" has been conceived so students can interact with Cruz-Diez's most representative works and chromatic environments: Inducción Cromática (Chromatic Induction), Colores Aditivos (Additive Colors), Fisicromia (Physichromie), Duchas de Inducción Cromática (Showers of Chromatic Induction), Cromointerfrencia Mecánica (Mechanical Chromo-interference), and Color al Espacio (Color to the Space). Cruz-Diez will present a selection of works never before exhibited that were specially produced for this exhibition. In addition, he will present Environments Chromointerférent, an environment in which visitors experience a situation of immateriality, of transfiguration, ambiguity of color, though the movement of light. A series of urban interventions increase the attractiveness of the exhibition. These include a container for traveling exhibitions in the US, conceived by the artist and designed by Articruz. It is located at the patio of the university. The two exterior faces of the structure show a Physichromie and a Chromatic Induction in a Double Frequency. Inside, a Cromosaturación (Chromosaturation) is displayed, an interactive piece that consists of three color chambers in which visitors can immerse in an absolute chromatic situation. This container will allow for the presentation of this exhibition at other universities around the country. "Chroma" has been organized by curator Storm Janse van Rensburg and Raquel Serebrenik-Sultan (BFA in Art History from the SCAD), in collaboration with the Articruz workshop (in Panama), entrusted with the production and installation of the works in the exhibition.
