The Cuban-born artist living in New York, Carmen Herrera, has a new exhibition at the Today Art Museum in Beijing. The exhibition is open from September 18 to October 24, 2010. Carmen Herrera, was born in Cuba, in 1915, began painting in 1930 after six decades creating, his first work was sold in 2004 when the artist was 89 years old, thereafter began to exhibit his work and many collectors started to look at her. Her pieces are now part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Tate Modern, London. The Today Art Museum of Beijing is the first private museum in China, a non-profit museum whose mission is to support the development of contemporary Chinese art. The Today Art Museum develops all kinds of communication with cultural and art institutions through exhibitions and projects exchange.
