Book launch: Geração 00 – A Nova Fotografia Brasileira
The book Geração 00 – A Nova Fotografia Brasileira was launched on at 8 pm on Tuesday, December 3rd, at the SESC Belenzinho in São Paulo. The publication is the result of a broad project exploring art-photography production in the county during the first decade of the Twenty-First Century, carried out by journalist and curator Eder Chiodetto. The book brings together works by 43 artists, groups, and graphic reporters at the O Estado de São Paulo newspaper, as well as texts by François Soulages, a professor at Paris VIII University and the National Art History Institute; Mauricio Lissovky, a historian of communication at ECO/EFRJ; and Chiodetto.
This publication pays tribute to photographer Claudia Andujar, considered a symbol for this new generation in terms of breaking with the canons of photo-journalism to broaden the language and open new paths for Brazilian photography. Also included in the selection are Alexandre Sequeira, Anderson Schneider, Bárbara Wagner, Breno Rotatori, Bruno Faria, Caio Reisewitz, Cia de Foto, Cinthia Marcelle, Cris Bierrenbach, Daniel Malva, Denise Gadelha, Ding Musa, Felipe Cama, Galeria Experiência, Garapa, Guy Veloso, João Castilho, Jonathas de Andrade, Lia Chaia, Lucas Simões, Patricia Gouvêa, Pedro David, Rafael Assef, Rodrigo Braga, Tony Camargo, Tuca Vieira, among others. The book launch featured presentations by Eder Chiodetto and Ronaldo Entler.
