ABC and the Fundación Pan y Arte invite visual artists from around the world to participate in the first edition of the Boedo Free Contemporary Art Scholarship (ABC) competition.
The jury will select 10 to 12 artists without age restrictions. Before participating, candidates who do not live in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires or in the Buenos Aires Province must plan ahead to ensure they will be able to meet the required 75 percent minimum attendance, as the scholarship will not cover travel expenses or lodging.
Candidates must submit all applications by August 12, 2012 to the following email address: abcbecadeboedo@gmail.com
Applications must include the following material:
• Scan or digital image of the first and second page of the applicant's DNI (Argentina's government issue ID card)
• Applicant's contact information, including email address and phone numbers.
• A resume that details the applicant's education and the exhibitions he/she has participated in thus far (must not exceed two thousand characters)
• Include 5 to 8 photographs of works. The images must be sent as JPGs or Powerpoint images. Videos must be sent as AVIs or MOVs; or through a Youtube link.
• All of the images sent must be small in order to facilitate a quick visualization.
Projects that deviate from the works created until now will be accepted, but in all cases candidates must include photographs of previous productions.
Candidates must also include a brief text or explanation that describes the work submitted (must not exceed 2000 characters).
The jury panel will include the participation of: Fabiana Barreda, Pablo De Monte, Gachi Prieto, Lucas Marín, and Andrés Labaké. The scholarship will last four months and it will begin on August 23, 2012.
Once completed, the organizers will contemplate the possibility of presenting exhibitions with the works created by the scholarship holders, within the institutional circuit and at gallery circuits as well. Attendance to both the clinics and the seminars will be compulsory. A 75% minimum monthly attendance will be required.
