As part of the district stimulus program, the Bogota City Council announces the opening of the call for participation in the Awards for Disabled Artists 2015. This competition seeks to recognize and showcase the contribution of disabled artists to the cultural development of the city. The call is open to individuals or art groups with at least one (1) year of artistic trajectory in the areas of media arts, performing arts, visual and fine arts, dance, literature or music. The total budget allocated for the prizes is $18,844,000.00 COP, divided equally into $2,307,333.00 COP per category. Should no proposals be entered for one or more categories, or if any proposal fails to fullfil the minimum requirements to receive the stimulus, the jury then may recommend the allocation of those funds in other categories, according to the order of eligibility and based on the score obtained. Proposals must be submitted on June 18 and 19, 2015, in the city Bogota. The call is open to disabled persons of legal age, from any country in the world, who reside in Bogota; groups formed by persons of legal age and minors, from any nationality, who reside in Bogota. These groups must be comprised of mostly disabled members and offer certifiable documentation of an artistic trajectory that spans at least one (1) year. Whether as individuals or members of a group, all participants must submit proposals in which they have actively participated in their creation or execution. Each group must appoint a representative responsible for communicating with the District Department of Culture, Recreation and Sport and performing any functions required for the purposes of this contest.
