Archivos Privados

In commemoration of the 17th years of the Museo Soumaya, the Carlos Slim Foundation and Mexico's Association of Private Archives and Libraries present Archivos Privados, an exhibition of more than 500 original, unique documents books, paintings, photographs, musical instruments, and objects. The exhibition will be open since December 8th, 2011, at the Museum headquarters in Plaza Loreto. Archivos Privados is a compilation of holdings currently at 23 different institutions, which have brought their materials together in order to display and present objects that refer and mark moments of Mexican history. The exhibition is organized around eight thematic nuclei: Feelings of the Nation; Good Childrearing; I will speak pleasant things into your ears and your heart; Sacred Memories; Joys of the Spirit; Mexican Vistas; and parallel activities.
